BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves from replacing the ECU or installing a new lock to bypass the security system.
Unlike other immobilisers The Ghost is different from other immobilisers. Ghost does not use LEDs or key fobs. Instead it uses the buttons in your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that only you know.
Stop & Start
If you've been in a BMW or used its stop-start feature, you may have noticed the engine continues to run for 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system constantly monitoring your vehicle for an ignition key, and once this signal is detected, it will keep running. The Autowatch 2 Ghost immobiliser prevents this from happening by stopping the car whenever you push a button sequence.
Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or add aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to your BMW's CAN network and programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code that can be accessible via buttons that are installed in your car. This allows you to enter the key push sequence that isn't available in the usual menus for media, like volume up/down and cruise control, source or turning on air conditioning that prevents your car from starting until the sequence is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 digits, so it is extremely difficult for thieves to determine or break.
In addition to this we can also add a service / valet mode to the system, this is activated when the car is scheduled for maintenance so that the Ghost is hidden from the garage. Service Mode / Valet Mode
The Ghost is a market-leading immobiliser designed to prevent your vehicle from being stolen through key cloning and hacking. It works by utilising the factory buttons on your vehicle to create an individual sequence of presses that only you can recognize, similar to as the pin code security of your mobile phone. Its discreet and incredibly effective in stopping even the most zealous thieves from ever trying!
If you are parked at home or in an event where you meet and greet, the Ghost can be switched into service mode which allows you to start the car using your keys as normal but prevents the engine from starting until the proper code is entered. This is great for customers who have to hand over their cars to valet services or trusted family members and friends. This allows you to take your car to the garage for repairs and maintenance, or other maintenance. without fearing about it being tampered with by mechanics while you wait.
If the service/valet mode has been activated and enabled, your BMW will not be able to drive after it is started. This will stop anyone else from testing driving it while you are away. When you return, the car will revert to normal and will not be damaged or stolen.

Anti-Hijack
Ghost developed this discreet device that is unobtrusive and helps in battling the growing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It is designed to stop thieves from using a brand new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your vehicle and then drive away. Ghost is connected to your CAN network, and uses buttons on your vehicle to create a unique push-sequence that must be entered before your engine can be started.
If the anti-hijacking mode has been activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be stopped. The system will honk the horn and flash the indicators. It will also stall the vehicle if the code is not found. By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can cancel the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to start temporarily without having to enter the PIN.
If you have an GPS device connected to your BMW, you can utilize it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to navigate using your navigation system even when the vehicle is in a parking spot. If you have a smart-phone you can also hook it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

Ghost also can stop the 'Relay Style Frequency Amplifier'. This is the most common method of stealing a vehicle with a keyfob which has been copied, or stolen by hacking. Ghost enables you to prevent this by installing an anti-theft device in your vehicle called Secure-A-Key. The device is installed inside the key-fob in your vehicle and removes the battery after a short period of inactivity. This can be done on the majority of modern PKE key-fobs.
